Let's talk about quality. When it comes to quality, lots of ballast makers, reflector makers, and bulb makers tend to love cutting corners to save a penny. Maverick Sun has developed excllent quality products while maintaining a very reasonable price. And when I say quality, I mean top of the line that would give HydroFarm and SunSystems equal competition.
The Magnilume PRO is a very solid reflector with a hinged glass protective shield to protect the bulb. There just simply isn't one downside to this product! The quality of workmanship is wonderful and a grower really couldn't ask for a better price for this quality.
The D'Lux bulb included with the package provides a great reddish tone for those growers who would want to mimic the long days of summer in their indoor environment. It's very bright, and more than sufficient. It can easily give Hortllux, Venture, and Sunmaster a run for their money in the HPS category. Again, great construction, very solid and excels at lumen output, 92,000 initial lumens, 2200K light spectrum, and a running life of 12,000 hours. Watch out big corporations, there is a company out there who is offering a wonderful product at a competitive price.
The Maverick Sun's Ballast comes in a tooled steel case, which adds extra protection in your indoor grow room. Everyone knows that accidents CAN happen where things might fall from a wall onto the ballast, or a number of other impacts are possible. With this rugged covering your ballast is sure to get the utmost protection afforded to a delicare product such as a ballat. It is a little heavy, but that extra weight is definitely worth the extra guarded protection of a pricey piece of electronics.
In closing, we would like to thank Brad from Maverick Sun for his generous donation for these trials and reviews. This is a company that actually cares about the product they are releasing and how the consumer feels about different aspects of their products. They genuinely wanted to know how this product would stand up to their competition, and they should be applauded for caring this much about making sure their customers have the best prdouct possible in their hands without taking any shortcuts. Be sure to visit the trials over the next year to check out how the Maverick Sun system will be doing against their competitors.
